Zero Level of Danger. Preliminary Analysis

Once, a mad hacker had the idea to “hack” the program of Dreaming. He was an eccentric fellow – a wild mix of Don Quixote, Baron Munchausen, and a lucky adventurer who had easily raked in almost a million and a half “greenbacks.” His name was Semyon Semyonovich Gorbunkov. Or Sergey Izrigi? What’s the difference, really! He organized six Dreaming clubs – in Minsk, Riga, and four cities in Russia. The guy hired 5 advertising agents and 16 psychoanalysts who invited people to the clubs and conducted individual surveys using a specially developed methodology. Conversations about dreams were recorded on audio and videotapes and then passed on to 6 analytical groups. 41 retired military analysts compiled their intricate classifications, extracted common themes from the information, and sent their conclusions to the client. I remember those days. Insane interest from a powerful project, then fatigue, irritation, and anger. People streamed into the clubs in an unending flow. Imagine a bright hall, a “buffet” with drinks and pastries. An atmosphere of love and warmth. General conversation, introductions, pleasant flirting among participants. Then the survey began, and people talked, and talked, and talked… The psychologist nodded, asked questions, and the tapes spun. Everyone enjoyed their perceived importance. Participants felt that their experience and knowledge were needed by someone. They shared it as best they could. What’s more! It was hard to stop them. And we received stories about deceased relatives on balconies, chases in old ruins, flights over cities, and so on and so forth. Two weeks later, I began to await a sign that would tell me the end date of this cultural event. The sign came in the form of a huge brute, with a square face and formidable fists. I had just flown to Riga to inspect a Dreaming club and, after wandering through the premises, I stumbled upon this guy in the corridor. He asked, “Dreaming club?” – “Yes,” I replied. And then the man shouted, “So you’re the one sleeping with my wife?!” From his punch to my jaw, I flew under the table, and I’ve been wearing a gold crown ever since. That was a perfectly clear sign, wasn’t it? We curtailed the club activities and began analyzing the results. Psychologists wrote us entire volumes, but, in principle, it all boiled down to one idea. A dream is chatter, a little action, and a terrible cliché. The same thoughts, plots, and movements. When you talk about a hundred cases, the similarity seems small. But this was about thousands of dreams. The enormous number of synchronous Dreams was striking. For example, on February 3, 1994, many people dreamed of playing with children either on a construction site of an unfinished house or amidst some ruins. What was it? A screening of a Dream film? Some file that passed through a “drive” composed of these people? Or was there an incorrect decoding of the information sent to them? A warning? An order? There is still no answer. This is a virgin territory for your further research.

The theme of synchronization also touched me. While reviewing the analysts’ reports, I came across a description of a dream that perfectly matched my own Dreaming. A woman recounted entering a pyramid where, to her surprise, she discovered a small chicken coop. Amusing – the Pyramid of Cheops, relentless guards, underground passages, and finally, a chicken coop. I had a livestock enclosure there. For two cows, I think. But that’s not important. I met the aforementioned lady. We became friends, and she joined the group of enthusiasts that was gathering around me at the time. Her name was Alla – The Scarlet Star of Zaslavl. Later, becoming a Dream Hacker, she penetrated the core of the “defense system” that monitors lucid intrusions into this bizarre world of forces and energies, our personal, group, and social personifications. Alla – a tragic fate and a rebellious spirit that broke the shackles of physical ailment. Here is a real example that a true hacker is a warrior. I will tell about her in the second part of the material. Now, let’s return to the analysis of dreams. In those distant times, scientists openly published articles on Dreaming research. The military paid little attention to them, but from 1995 onwards, the situation changed. Hundreds of works describing direct and inverse connections between everyday and Dream realities were withdrawn from archives.

Examples of Direct Connections:

a) How do the dreams of ordinary people and rape victims differ? b) Dreams of people who survived concentration camps and mass executions. c) Dreams of adolescents with increasing signs of deafness. d) The influence of sadism and masochism on the dreams of people of various age categories. e) The connection between vestibular activity and the frequency of “transparent” Dreams. f) The influence of the menstrual cycle hormones on Dreams.

Examples of Inverse Connections:

a) The role of Dreams in adapting to stressful situations. b) The influence of Dreams on creativity and the creation of metaphors. c) The incorporation of Dream solutions into the fabric of daily affairs. d) The influence of various types of dreams on hormone stimulation.

However, we acted just in time. All the knowledge of the world’s science of dreams, accumulated by humanity over 30 centuries of history, found its place in fifty thick folders labeled “Archive.” And it must be noted, there was much of interest there. Hundreds of hired specialists, scurrying up and down stairs between tall shelves, had not toiled in vain. I plunged into a sea of theories. Praising articles on Calvin Hall and Bergson were followed by critiques of Freud. “No,” prominent scientists wrote. “The content of a dream is a function of randomly selected memories by a biological process.” “What are you talking about! What are you talking about!” others exclaimed. “You haven’t considered the aspects of creative incubation and the function of REM sleep. The brain itself organizes neural signals, whose cognitive correlation creates gaps and inconsistencies in the course of Dreams!” “All this is nonsense!” asserted a third group. “We must view REM sleep, NREM sleep, and the waking state as expressions of a single undifferentiated position, for electroencephalograms confirm that during transitions between the waking state, NREM sleep, and REM-Dreams, peaks of similar frequency from 7 to 9 Hz are observed, and this, my dear sirs, is the very EEG spectrum we noted during transcendental meditations.” However, any theory is a probability defined by the set of facts involved. That is, the number of theories can be infinite, and all of them, in principle, will be correct in their own way. And in Russia, there was a dreadful silence. Science was stripped bare and, having been privatized in unison, was locked away in a dark closet. Professors stole flasks. Graduate students drank alcohol and sold their last secrets. That is why, probably, my friend, a rich and deranged hacker, told us: “Hush! Someone is buying up factories and deposits! Someone is profiting from the blood of boys and the tears of orphaned mothers. And I will invest money in the development of the science of Lucid and controlled Dreams, so that every person, fed up with the delirium of their rulers, can go to the land of dreams and knowledge – to the beautiful and fairy-tale Eldorado!” Said and done. In just over a month, we carried out a series of activities and accumulated all available information about dreams and Dreams at that time. Our conclusion was the following: a Dream is an analogue of a text file in (only read) format. And now, almost five years later, American scientists are starting to come to the same conclusion. A Dream is a description, an interpretation of certain influences that our brain transmits to consciousness. The Dream world is an illusion, Maya. In reality, each individual Dream is a Perception Bubble, which includes a description of a certain place, a scene, the characters of that scene, your emotions and experiences at that specific moment. What we call the world of dreams is just a handful of “bubbles” – emptiness within emptiness, separated from chaos by an iridescent film. A person familiar with computers knows that a text file cannot affect the operating system. It can only be made a “master key” to the program’s core by supplying it with control macros. This hacker’s rule applies to penetrating any protected environment, including lucid entry into the world of Dreams. That’s why Don Juan forced Castaneda to look for his hands in Dreams – he made him remember this in a dream, introduce lucidity, insert the “Hands” macro into the context of the description of the Dream world, and thereby gradually create a large, nimble “worm” (the Dream body) in the program of his consciousness. You might say that this is the most absurd idea presented to you in the past two days. But it occurred to an abnormal hacker, so there’s nothing to be surprised about. Another aspect is more important here – my friend was so rich that he could insist on testing his hypothesis. To avoid repeating Castaneda’s described method, our analyst proposed using a “machine” (CAR – a creation of artificial replacement). This method of artificial replacement involves introducing an active element into any system, which creates an artificial space within it – a springboard for further actions. We decided to replace a handful of Dream “Perception Bubbles” with an artificial and controllable space, or rather, an exact copy of the human consciousness matrix that describes the world of Dreams to us. Each of us had to map our dreams and arrange the “puzzle-bubbles” into a single picture. Oh, how ridiculous we were in our vanity as “pioneers.” Years have passed, and now I understand that we merely repeated the Toltec technique of recapitulation. Not a recapitulation of life, but of dreams. And you know what I’ll tell you? These Toltecs were true hackers!
